The first truck Designed Specifically for Agriculture

Lucky for us, Ram has just announced it will market a truck specifically to America’s farm families, the 2018 Harvest Edition. Available across the 1500, 2500, and 3500 lines, the Harvest Edition backs up its agriculture-oriented name with a variety of functional upgrades and some cosmetic upgrades.

Most obvious are two new colors. Case IH Red and New Holland Blue join Ram’s comprehensive color palette, allowing farmers to purchase trucks that match their farm equipment perfectly. “Farmers have been asking for these colors, and Ram is proud to be the first in the industry to be able to offer them,” said Mike Manley, head honcho at Jeep and Ram. “The Ram Harvest Edition truck will allow farm families to get their work done while proudly showing their agricultural brand loyalty.”

The Harvest Edition—which will be available in all four-door configurations, all box lengths, and all powertrains—also receives a number of practical improvements as well. Each model receives on/off-road tires for added traction in pastures and fields, plus a spray-in bedliner, tubular side steps, mudflaps, rubber floor mats, and a fold-out bumper step. Harvest Edition 4x4s get standard skidplates and tow hooks, while the 1500 gets a one-inch ride height increase for better ground clearance and the 2500 and 3500 each get a cargo-view camera.

Ram will also treat Harvest Edition customers with some added comfort in the way of heated front seats, perfect for early mornings and chilly weather. Furthermore, the special edition also comes standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen radio with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and 4G Wi-Fi.

In addition to the new colors, the Harvest also comes with some exterior upgrades. Mesh grille inserts, bright-finish front and rear bumpers, and chrome mirror caps and door handles add some flash to the Ram’s handsome styling. Chrome wheels measuring 17 inches come standard on the 1500, while the Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500 get polished aluminum 18-inchers. In addition to Case IH Red and New Holland Blue, the Harvest Edition is also available in Bright White or Brilliant Black, with monotone or two-tone (with Bright Silver) paint schemes available.

The Harvest Edition goes on sale this fall, starting at $39,910 (plus $1,395 destination) for the 1500 or $46,235 plus destination for the Heavy Duty. It joins other recently released 2018 Rams, including the Limited Tungsten Edition.
